Are you running into a Starlink network issue? While Starlink may be the leading internet service provider in rural, it can sometimes run into frustrating errors.
These issues range from disconnecting, abnormal rebooting, unplugged messages, appearing offline, etc.
Fortunately, I have researched and listed the most common Starlink network issues, their causes, and how to troubleshoot them successfully.
Starlink Unplugged or Rebooting Error Message
You will notice this error once you launch the Starlink app, and it displays your connection is OFFLINE.
This Starlink network issue is usually a result of the dish not communicating with the router due to a disconnection.
It can arise from an incomplete recent reboot or when in the rebooting process and usually vanishes after a successful reboot.
The error can also show if you have a faulty Starlink dish, router, or a damaged dish-router cable.
How to solve unplugged or rebooting error message
If you encounter the above issues, consider the following troubleshooting tips:
- By unplugging the router and then plugging it back in.
- Once the reboot is complete and you still encounter the error, remove and replug the cable connecting the router to the dish. Do the same on the dish and ensure you hear a click sound.
- If step two above doesn’t work, check the cable for wear, tear, and other damages, and replace it if necessary. If your cable is fine, consider replacing your dish or the router. Just raise a support ticket for replacement if your warrant is still valid or order new equipment if the warrant has expired.

Starlink Disconnected Error
The DISCONNECTED message is usually accompanied by ‘Connect to Starlink WiFi,’ meaning your device is not communicating with the router.
It can be due to connecting disruption due to power issues.
You may also experience this error if you are far from the router or when your router has issues.
Disconnected error troubleshooting
You can solve this error in several ways that I will discuss below:
- Ensure you are within the range of your WiFi, usually not more than 2000 ft from the router. Also, ensure no obstruction, such as walls from you to the router.
- Inspect your router and ensure you plug it properly into the power supply. The router has an LED light that indicates AC power; if there is no light, it means your router is not powered.
- If the problem persists, consider a router reboot. You can do a power cycle by unplugging your router from the power socket and letting it sit idle for a few seconds.
- The final step is a router factory reset if the error won’t go. However, be careful since it deletes all your data and configurations. Just unplug and replug your router from the power six times consecutively, leaving three seconds between each cycle.

Other Starlink Offline Error Messages
Below are other issues associated with the Starlink app showing offline message and their troubleshooting solutions:
Offline – Booting
When your router is OFFLINE during the initial setup or a power outage, it indicates the setup is booting.
The only solution is to give the router time to complete the process. However, if the process goes beyond 30 minutes, you can reboot it using the abovementioned process.
Offline – Searching
If you get the indication that the device is searching, it means your dish is establishing a connection with the nearest satellite.
You can only wait here as this process takes about 10 minutes and not more than 30 minutes.
Offline – No Signal Received
Mostly, no signal error can be due to obstacles such as buildings and trees blocking the dish from accessing a clear sky view.
Also, the error can be due to bad weather, such as heavy rain or snow, that might affect signal reception.
The solution is clearing all the obstructions and ensuring your dish has at least a 100-degree sky view. In bad weather, you can only wait for it to cease.
Then, it would be best if you cleared the snow and debris from your dish surface.
Starlink is Currently at Capacity In Your Area
The error indicates SpaceX is not accepting more users in your area, but you can solve it in two ways:
Order RV Starlink
You can order Starlink for RV, meant for nomads who like roaming with their campers.
So long as your area has coverage, the Starlink for RV ships immediately since it has no waitlist.
While it costs the same as the residential plan, be prepared to pay $25 more in monthly subscription.
Another downside to ordering the RV plan is that Starlink deprioritizes it in speed during peak hours.
Pay the Deposit and Place an Order
The best solution would be to pay the required deposit and wait for Starlink to accept new subscribers in your area.
This method puts you on the waitlist, allowing Starlink to notify you once it’s ready to take new users.

Other Ways to Fix Starlink Network Issues
Let’s now discuss some more solutions to fix your Starlink network issue
Updating firmware
Sometimes, you might be experiencing excellent internet, and it starts disconnection issues.
The problem here may be outdated or new firmware with bugs.
Here, the solution is to wait for the new firmware from Starlink, which updates weekly and automatically.
Slow connection solution
You may also experience a slow connection due to internet configurations or congestion.
To solve this, consider switching your frequency from 2.4GHz to 5GHz.
If this doesn’t work, it could be congestion due to many people browsing during peak hours.
You can only solve this by dedicating your most important task to offpeak hours.
If the two do not solve the issue, power cycle your router using the abovementioned method.
Contact Support
The good thing about Starlink is that you can contact their customer support in case of errors with your internet.
However, the bad news is that there is no phone number or email to contact them directly.
You must be a customer, log into the app or the website, and raise a support ticket.
Here, you explain your issues and wait for a customer representative to contact you.
They may then ask further questions and direct you toward the solution.
Conclusion
Now you know various solutions to solve your Starlink network issue and get back to your browsing.
Since most of these issues are related to dish-satellite communication, ensure you eliminate these issues first.
You can do this by mounting your dish in an elevated place away from obstructions.
Additionally, turn on the dish’s snow melting feature to ensure no ice accumulates on your dish surface.
